Mississippi State Auditor’s Office Urges Timely Distribution of EEF Funds to Teachers
Mississippi State Auditor Shad White has reiterated the importance of teachers receiving their Education Enhancement Funds (EEF) cards before professional development days. The Mississippi Department of Education and school districts control when the funds are distributed, according to White.
In June, the Department of Education committed in writing to the auditor’s office that EEF funds would be available to teachers by July 15, 2026. The auditor’s office stated it is committed to transparency in state government and aims to ensure teachers do not have to spend their own money to set up their classrooms.
White emphasized the office’s ongoing efforts to monitor fund distribution and advocate for timely access for educators across the state.
