National Weather Service Issues Flash Flood Warning for Mississippi
The National Weather Service in Jackson has issued an elevated risk for flash flooding in parts of Mississippi this weekend. The main threat is expected on Sunday, May 24,, and Monday, May 25, according to the agency.
Residents are advised to stay weather aware and know where to go in case of evacuation. Authorities recommend identifying alternate routes to avoid flooded roads and following safety tips such as “Turn Around, Don’t Drown.”
The Mississippi Department of Transportation will provide updates on road conditions throughout the weekend, officials said.
