Prentiss County man charged in 2025 burglary, arrested in 2026

PRENTISS COUNTY, Miss. — A man accused of a 2025 burglary in Prentiss County was arrested April 30, according to the sheriff’s office.

Daniel Stout, 33, of County Road 4101, was taken into custody following an investigation that began last August. Deputy Dennis Peeks responded to a report of forced entry and stolen items at a residence on County Road 4101, where evidence including a blood sample was collected.

In April 2026, the Mississippi Forensics Laboratory matched the DNA sample to Stout through the Combined DNA Index System, sheriff’s officials said. Investigators then contacted Stout, who admitted to committing the burglary, authorities added.

Stout was booked into the Prentiss County Jail on a charge of burglary of a commercial building. Justice Court Judge Ray Hall set his bond at $25,000 cash or professional bond only. Investigator Aaron Stolz is scheduled to present the case to the next Prentiss County grand jury. Investigator Torie Jumper assisted in the case, officials said.
