Severe storms expected in northeast Mississippi this afternoon

National Weather Service officials issued an update at 11:30 a.m., warning of strong to severe storms expected across northeast Mississippi this afternoon.

The primary threats include damaging wind gusts and heavy rainfall, which could lead to localized flooding, according to the forecast.
