Tropical funnel clouds possible in parts of Arkansas and Missouri this afternoon

Brief tropical funnel clouds could develop across northeast Arkansas and the Missouri Bootheel this afternoon, the National Weather Service said.

These funnel clouds are generally not a hazard and do not typically reach the surface. However, if they do make contact with the ground, wind speeds could reach around 50 mph, the agency added.

Meteorologists advise residents to remain cautious and stay updated with local weather alerts, especially if funnel clouds are observed.
