MEMA shares severe-storm risk for Mississippi this afternoon

The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency shared a National Weather Service Jackson severe-weather graphic Tuesday morning saying parts of Mississippi face a Marginal risk, level 1 of 5, for severe storms this afternoon and into the overnight hours. The post was published at 9:24 a.m. Central time.

The graphic, titled "Severe Weather Threat," shows Mississippi in the level 1 risk area. It lists isolated severe storms as the main concern and warns that wind gusts could reach 60 mph across parts of the state.

The same outlook says tornadoes cannot be ruled out. The image reading shows the graphic was updated at 1:34 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2026, before the storm threat later in the day.

MEMA's post repeated the timing as Tuesday afternoon into the overnight hours and told readers to stay weather aware. The statewide notice gives residents a heads-up on the potential for damaging winds and a tornado threat.
