Booneville Stadium Expansion Moves Toward Bids

The Booneville School District is moving ahead with a bond-funded Booneville stadium expansion that will add seating for roughly 3,000 fans, according to the Booneville Banner-Independent. Bids for the first phase are expected to be sought soon.

Booneville Stadium Expansion: What’s Planned

Superintendent Dr. Todd English said the district will soon advertise for bleacher installation at the multi-purpose stadium, which opened in 2025. Voters approved a $1.7 million bond issue to pay for the work.

  • New bleachers holding about 1,200 fans on one side of the field and 1,600 on the other
  • Added restrooms and dressing rooms
  • More parking north of the facility
  • Bids also being sought for a new press box, scoreboard and entrance/concession area

Timeline

The district aims to finish the expansion in time to host graduation for the Class of 2027 next May. The stadium has already hosted large soccer games, a football jamboree and the annual Meet the Devils night.

Academics and Career Training

English also said the district expects its test data and state accountability ratings this fall. He noted that changes in how ratings are calculated may shift rankings even where actual performance has grown, and that the district is expanding career-preparation training. “We’ve got to be preparing students for the jobs that are right here in Booneville,” he said.
