Corinth heat eases by midweek as NWS adds small Monday night storm chance

In a Saturday morning post, the National Weather Service in Memphis said heat should moderate by the middle of next week. Its forecast graphic showed Corinth at 100 degrees Saturday, 99 Sunday, 96 Monday, 91 Tuesday, 87 Wednesday, and 85 Thursday and Friday, with heat index values of 103, 102, 102, 97, 90, 86 and 86. The graphic was marked updated at 3:59 a.m. Saturday.

Afternoon update keeps very hot weather in place through Monday

In a Saturday afternoon update, the National Weather Service in Memphis said very hot temperatures were expected to continue into Monday, with a weak cold front bringing slightly cooler temperatures toward the middle of next week. Its graphic showed Corinth at 99 Sunday and Monday, 94 Tuesday, 88 Wednesday, 87 Thursday and Friday, and 88 Saturday; it also said appreciable rainfall was not expected. The graphic was updated at 2:17 p.m. Saturday.

Sunday storm outlook keeps only a low chance of showers Monday night

In a Sunday update, the National Weather Service in Memphis said a cold front will sweep across the area Monday night, bringing a low 20% to 30% chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms. The agency said widespread heavy rainfall is not expected, and the graphic noted a low damaging wind gust threat. The graphic was updated at 12:58 p.m. Sunday.
