Corinth faces another stretch of near-100-degree heat before cooler air arrives next week, according to National Weather Service forecasts reported by Alcorn County News. The weather service also has a free online storm-spotter class planned for Sept. 24.

Heat continues ahead of a midweek cooldown
In its later Sept. 18 forecast, the National Weather Service in Memphis projected Corinth highs of 100 degrees Saturday and Sunday, 99 Monday and 94 Tuesday, followed by 87 Wednesday and 86 Thursday. A weak cold front early next week could bring isolated to scattered showers and storms, though the agency said appreciable rainfall was not expected.
The weather service’s free virtual SKYWARN course is scheduled for Sept. 24 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The course is expected to last about 1.5 to 2 hours. Registration information and the forecast details are available in Alcorn County News’ report on Corinth weather and storm-spotter training.

Adult education leads to pharmacy work in Corinth
Northeast Mississippi Community College Adult Education highlighted Shiloh’s path to work at the Corinth Walmart Pharmacy in a Sept. 18 profile. The college said she entered its Smart Start Professional Development class in November 2024, joined the Gateway Youth Program and earned her High School Equivalency diploma on Dec. 11, 2024.
After working as a student administrative assistant at the WIN Job Center and taking a part-time pharmacy job, she earned her Pharmacy Technician license on Feb. 28, 2026, according to the college. Read the full report on Shiloh’s education and career path.
