Alcorn County roundup, Sept. 20, 2026: Corinth cooldown ahead; slight storm chance Monday night
Corinth’s heat is expected to ease by midweek, while a cold front Monday night, Sept. 21, brings only a small chance of showers and thunderstorms, according to National Weather Service Memphis updates reported by Alcorn County News.
Heat lingers before temperatures fall
The weather service’s Saturday afternoon forecast put Corinth’s highs at 99 degrees Sunday and Monday, followed by 94 Tuesday, 88 Wednesday and 87 Thursday and Friday. That update continued to call for very hot conditions through Monday before a weak front brings cooler weather.
Monday night rain chances remain limited
In its Sunday update, the agency forecast a 20% to 30% chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms as the front crosses the area Monday night. Widespread heavy rainfall was not expected, and the outlook noted a low threat of damaging wind gusts.
