Corinth Police Felony Arrests: October 2026 List Released

The Corinth Police Department on Tuesday released its list of Corinth police felony arrests for October 2026. Two men were booked on felony charges during the month: one is accused of attempted murder and kidnapping, the other of attempted burglary.

The department shared booking photos of both men on its official Facebook page under the heading “Felony Arrests October 2026.” Both men are charged, not convicted. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

October Corinth police felony arrests

According to the Corinth Police Department, these people were arrested on felony charges in October:

  • Bacarra Lamar Hill is charged with attempted murder and kidnapping.
  • Gavin Lavone Luster is charged with attempted burglary.

The department’s post gave only names and charges. It did not include ages, hometowns, arrest dates, bond amounts, or details of the cases.

Hill arrested after Scott Street shooting

Hill’s charges stem from a shooting that drew a large police response early in the month. On Thursday, Oct. 1, officers found a person lying in the roadway in the Scott Street area with what looked like a gunshot wound. The victim was flown from the Belk parking lot to Regional One Health in Memphis.

Police said Hill, 39, of Corinth, was taken into custody at about 4:30 p.m. the next day, Friday, Oct. 2, during a traffic stop carried out by Corinth officers, detectives, and the Corinth-Alcorn County SWAT team. Investigators accused him of taking the victim at gunpoint before the shooting, which police said happened at a different location from where the victim was taken. The victim’s name and condition have not been released.

The October list does not add new details about Hill’s case. For background, see our earlier report, Corinth Shooting Arrest: Man Charged With Kidnapping.

Attempted burglary charge

Luster is the only other person on the department’s October felony list. Police have not said where or when the alleged attempted burglary happened, or whether it involved a home, a business, or a vehicle.

An attempt charge generally means a person is accused of taking a direct step toward committing a crime without completing it. Burglary generally means breaking into and entering a building or dwelling with the intent to commit a crime inside, such as theft.

What happens next

In Alcorn County, felony cases usually begin with an initial appearance before a judge, where bond is set. The cases then go to a grand jury, which decides whether there is enough evidence for an indictment. Indicted cases are prosecuted in Alcorn County Circuit Court by the District Attorney’s Office for the First Circuit Court District.

Corinth police post their felony arrests in monthly roundups like this one, which give residents a look at the more serious cases officers handle. October’s two arrests compare with three in September. You can read that list in our earlier report, Corinth Police Felony Arrests: September 2026 List Released.

Anyone with information about a crime in the city is asked to contact the Corinth Police Department.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
