NWS Memphis tracks Isaias fading out and Corinth warming up

Landfall brings clouds, gusty winds and rain early Saturday

The US National Weather Service Memphis Tennessee said Isaias has officially made landfall near Destin, Florida, and that clouds tied to the system are already spreading across the Mid-South. The agency said gusty winds and rainfall were expected to arrive early Saturday morning.

Last advisory says Isaias is weakening quickly

The US National Weather Service Memphis Tennessee said Isaias is weakening very quickly as it moves inland, and the National Hurricane Center has issued its last public advisory on the system. The accompanying graphic says the storm is now post-tropical, with sustained winds of 20 to 25 mph, gusts up to 50 mph, and rainfall totals of 1 to 3 inches with locally higher amounts up to 3.5 inches across much of the Mid-South.

Corinth turns warmer as the remnants move away

In its Saturday afternoon forecast update, the US National Weather Service Memphis Tennessee said warmer temperatures will return Sunday as the remnants of Isaias move away from the region. The graphic shows Corinth at 81 Sunday, 89 Monday, 90 Tuesday and 90 Wednesday, then 88 Thursday, 82 Friday and 73 Saturday, with highs in the lower 90s through the middle of next week and lows in the 60s.
