Prentiss County Burglary: County Work Truck Stolen From Shed

The Prentiss County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary at a county supervisor’s district shed early Saturday morning. Deputies say a man took vehicle batteries and other items, then drove off in one of the supervisor’s county work trucks.

The sheriff’s office announced the burglary on its Facebook page Saturday afternoon and asked anyone with information to come forward.

Prentiss County burglary at supervisor district shed

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies were called in the early morning hours of Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026, after a burglary at the Prentiss County Supervisor District Shed at 283 County Road 8311.

Investigators say a white male entered the property and took vehicle batteries and other miscellaneous items. He then left in one of the supervisor’s work trucks.

Stolen county truck description

The sheriff’s office described the stolen vehicle as:

  • 2007 Ford F-150
  • Four-door crew cab
  • White

The sheriff’s office shared a photo of the truck with its post. Anyone who sees a vehicle matching this description should not approach it. Call law enforcement instead.

Investigation ongoing; how to help

The sheriff’s office said the investigation is active and ongoing. No arrest had been announced as of Saturday evening, and no suspect had been named.

Anyone with information that could lead to an arrest is asked to contact the Prentiss County Sheriff’s Office at 662-728-6232 or call Crime Stoppers. Tips to Crime Stoppers can be made anonymously.

Burglaries at county barns and shops cost taxpayers twice: once for the stolen equipment, and again when road crews lose the use of trucks and tools they need for daily work on county roads.
