Alcorn County roundup, Oct. 18, 2026: Trail of Treats returns Tuesday; Corinth warmup forecast

CORINTH — More than 20 vendors are expected at Crossroads Regional Park on Tuesday, Oct. 20, for the ninth annual Trail of Treats, with an expanded early session for visitors with special needs, according to Alcorn County News’ report citing the Daily Corinthian.

The event leads the Oct. 18 roundup of stories originally published by Alcorn County News from 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, through 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18. Weather coverage and a hunting-equipment guide also fall within that window.

Trail of Treats set for Tuesday

The general public can visit from 6 to 8 p.m., with the special-needs session from 5:30 to 6 p.m. Children 12 and younger can collect treats, and children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Plans include live music, activities, popcorn and hot chocolate.

Park Director Skylar Crayton said the earlier session, introduced last year, has been expanded to 30 minutes to give visitors time on the trail before the larger crowds and music. Visitors with special needs may also attend during general-public hours. Read the Trail of Treats details.

Saturday forecasts outlined a cold start and warmer week

Two reports published Saturday relayed National Weather Service Memphis forecasts for a cold Sunday morning, including upper-30s to low-40s temperatures across the Mid-South and isolated, patchy frost. The later report included a graphic showing a 34% frost-development probability for Corinth. Those reports described forecasts for the morning of Oct. 18; they did not establish whether frost occurred.

The earlier report’s forecast graphic put Corinth’s Sunday high at 70 degrees and Thursday’s at 81, with above-average highs returning by midweek. Read the cold-start and warmup forecast and the later weekend weather update.
