Corinth Homecoming Week: Parade Thursday, Game Friday

Corinth High School’s homecoming week is underway. The Corinth School District has posted a full week of dress-up days, a Thursday evening parade and Friday’s homecoming football game against Tishomingo County. The Warriors enter the game unbeaten in district play, so the night carries playoff stakes as well as school spirit.

The district shared the week’s schedule in its Oct. 12-16 “Weekly Warrior” newsletter, along with a Corinth High “HOCO Week” spirit flyer.

Corinth Homecoming Week Spirit Days

Each school day has its own theme for Corinth High students. The district reminded families that all outfits must be school appropriate and follow the dress code.

  • Monday, Oct. 12, Country vs. Country Club: cowboy gear or preppy wear.
  • Tuesday, Oct. 13, USA: red, white and blue for Election Day.
  • Wednesday, Oct. 14, Go Big C: dress as anything that starts with the letter C.
  • Thursday, Oct. 15, Warrior Spirit: homecoming T-shirts or anything red or black for parade day.
  • Friday, Oct. 16, Class T-Shirt: class shirts for the pep rally.

Tuesday’s theme matches the Corinth municipal general election, when voters choose the city’s next mayor. Polls are open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Early Dismissal and Homecoming Parade Thursday

Thursday, Oct. 15, is the busiest day for families. According to the district newsletter:

  • Report cards go home at the elementary, middle and high schools.
  • Corinth High presents its homecoming sweethearts at 1:30 p.m.
  • All Corinth schools dismiss early, at 2 p.m.
  • The homecoming parade begins at 5:30 p.m.

The newsletter did not list a parade route. Families planning to watch should check the Corinth School District’s website and social media pages for route and parking details as Thursday gets closer.

Pep Rally, Kickoff and Court on Friday

Friday, Oct. 16, starts with a pep rally at 9:30 a.m. That night, Corinth hosts Tishomingo County at 7 p.m. The homecoming court will be presented at halftime.

Corinth is 4-2 overall and 2-0 in district play, according to MaxPreps, after wins over South Pontotoc (62-0) and North Pontotoc (52-7). Tishomingo County comes in after a 35-16 win over South Pontotoc last week. MaxPreps lists GoFan as the ticket outlet for the game.
