Corinth school district submitting waiver to use substitute examination

The Corinth School District announced they will be formally submittig a waiver to the Department Of Education to be able to use an alternate school examination process.

Below is the release from the District:

The Corinth School District is committed to improving our schools and providing a high-quality education for your children. As you are aware, as part of our District of Innovation status, the Corinth School District has implemented the Cambridge Assessment International Program. Our students have achieved success in this program and on the associated course examinations.

The Corinth School District will be submitting a waiver request to the Mississippi Department of Education and the U. S. Department of Education to allow us to substitute selected Cambridge examinations in lieu of the required Mississippi high school assessments. We would like to share information with you about our request and give you a meaningful opportunity to provide input in this process.

The following forums will be held to allow you to provide input:

August 15, 2019 8:00 a.m. CSD Central Office 
August 16, 2019 12:00 p.m. CSD Central Office
August 19, 2019 6:00 p.m. CHS Auditorium
August 22, 2019 6:00 p.m. CHS Auditorium

In an increased effort to solicit input, we will receive written comments either by mail or email.
