Corinth Garbage Pickup Changes for Veterans Day, Holidays
Several Corinth garbage pickup days will move over the next two months because of city holidays. The City of Corinth has posted its 2026 holiday garbage route schedule on its website. The first change comes next week, when the city is closed for Veterans Day on Wednesday, Nov. 11.
The City of Corinth Street Department runs garbage collection. Here is when your cans need to be at the curb during each holiday week left this year.
Corinth Garbage Pickup for Veterans Day Week
City offices close Wednesday, Nov. 11, for Veterans Day. Two days of routes shift back a day:
- Wednesday routes will be picked up Thursday, Nov. 12
- Thursday and Friday routes will be picked up Friday, Nov. 13
Monday and Tuesday routes stay on their regular days that week.
Veterans Day is also the date of Corinth’s downtown parade. See our story on the Corinth Veterans Day parade.
Thanksgiving Week: All Routes Run Early
The city closes Thursday and Friday, Nov. 26 and 27, for Thanksgiving. Every route moves earlier in the week:
- Monday and Tuesday routes: Monday, Nov. 23
- Wednesday route: Tuesday, Nov. 24
- Thursday and Friday routes: Wednesday, Nov. 25
Thanksgiving week often means extra kitchen trash and boxes, so plan ahead if your regular day is later in the week.
Christmas and New Year’s Changes
The city will be closed Thursday and Friday, Dec. 24 and 25, for Christmas:
- Monday and Tuesday routes: Monday, Dec. 21
- Wednesday route: Tuesday, Dec. 22
- Thursday and Friday routes: Dec. 23
For New Year’s Day, the city is closed Friday, Jan. 1. Thursday and Friday routes will be picked up Thursday, Dec. 31.
Schedule Could Change
Under the city’s policy, a holiday is any day the governor of Mississippi declares a holiday, so the schedule can change if the governor issues a proclamation. The city says to watch for updates on its website, at corinthms.gov, and on the Street Department’s voicemail.
