NEMCC Adult Education profiles Shiloh’s route to pharmacy work
Northeast Mississippi Community College Adult Education said in a Sept. 18 post that Shiloh turned a difficult stretch into a career path by moving through the college’s Smart Start Professional Development class, Gateway Youth Program and Adult Education program.
The post says she enrolled in Smart Start in November 2024 and joined Gateway while completing the class. It said she stood out as a conscientious student who helped classmates catch up on assignments and came in on her day off to help another student study for part of the High School Equivalency exam.
After excelling in Smart Start, Shiloh earned her High School Equivalency diploma on Dec. 11, 2024, the college said. She then worked as a student administrative assistant at the WIN Job Center while pursuing opportunities in the pharmacy field, and a part-time job at Walmart Pharmacy became the start of that career path.
NEMCC Adult Education said Shiloh earned her Pharmacy Technician license on Feb. 28, 2026, and now works as a Pharmacy Technician at the Corinth Walmart Pharmacy. The post said she has faced personal and family challenges, but kept moving forward with determination, faith and support from her family.
