NWS Memphis offers SKYWARN class amid Corinth heat and cooldown

NWS Memphis sets a virtual SKYWARN class for Sept. 24

The National Weather Service in Memphis says it will hold a free virtual SKYWARN course on Sept. 24 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The post says the class should last about 1.5 to 2 hours, and registration is available at weather.gov/meg/skywarn. Its graphic labels the event as National Weather Service Memphis, TN, Virtual Storm Spotter Training.

Corinth heat stays near 100 through Monday

In a Sept. 18 forecast post, the National Weather Service in Memphis said high temperatures in the mid 90s to around 100 will continue through Monday before easing into the 80s by the middle of next week. The forecast graphic shows Corinth at 100 Friday and Saturday, 99 Sunday, 98 Monday, 94 Tuesday, 89 Wednesday and 86 Thursday, with heat index values of 103, 106, 103, 103, 100, 91 and 86.

Weak cold front brings a slight rain chance and cooler air

Later on Sept. 18, the National Weather Service in Memphis said a weak cold front early next week should bring a low chance of isolated to scattered showers and storms, with no appreciable rainfall expected and temperatures dropping below 90 degrees. The graphic shows Corinth at 100 Saturday and Sunday, 99 Monday, 94 Tuesday, 87 Wednesday, 86 Thursday and 85 Friday.
