Two Booneville residents charged after East Church Street stop

The Prentiss County Sheriff’s Department says two Booneville residents were arrested after a traffic-related investigation on East Church Street in Booneville on Sept. 14, 2026. Investigator Aaron Stolz saw a black Chevrolet S-10 stopped in the roadway and started a welfare check, the department said.

During that investigation, officers recovered a .22-caliber revolver from inside the vehicle, according to the department. The occupants were identified as Zepplin Kennedy, 29, and Maranda Harris, 44, both of Booneville.

The sheriff’s department said both people were determined to have prior felony convictions after the investigation continued. Kennedy and Harris were taken into custody, and each was charged with possession of a weapon by a felon.

Justice Court Judge Ray Hall handled the initial appearance and set each bond at $5,000, the department said. Investigator Stolz will present the case to the next Prentiss County Grand Jury.

Investigators Torie Jumper and Kolby Knight assisted with the case, according to the sheriff’s department.
