Deadline Approaching for 2026 Alligator Public Water Hunt Applications

Mississippi residents interested in participating in the 2026 public water alligator hunt have until June 12 to submit their applications, according to the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks (MDWFP).

The 10-day season is scheduled to run from noon Aug. 28 to noon Sept. 7. Applicants must use the MDWFP Hunt Fish License System to apply. Those without an existing account will need to create one before submitting their application, MDWFP said.

For detailed instructions and to apply online, hunters can visit the MDWFP website at https://www.mdwfp.com/wildlife-hunting/wildlife-species-program/alligator-program/public-waters-permits, the agency added.
