Disaster Recovery Centers Open in Mississippi for Storm Assistance
Disaster Survivor Assistance Centers will open today in nine Mississippi counties affected by recent storms, according to the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency.
The centers will open at 8 a.m. in Adams, Bolivar, Claiborne, Issaquena, Jefferson, Sharkey, Sunflower, Warren, and Washington counties. Additionally, Disaster Recovery Centers remain open in Alcorn, Benton, Lafayette, Leflore, Panola, and Yazoo counties, the agency said.
The agency reminded residents that the application deadline is June 10. All centers, including DSA locations, will close on Saturday, May 23.
Officials emphasized that receiving disaster benefits will not affect Social Security, Medicare, or Medicaid benefits, according to the agency.
