Louisiana wildlife officials announced that applications for the private lands alligator season are now open. The application process is exclusively online; mail-in applications will not be accepted, authorities said.
The application window will remain open until July 1, 2026. A separate draw for public waters alligator season will open June 1 and close June 12, officials said.
For instructions on how to apply, season dates, and other details, hunters are directed to visit the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries website at https://www.mdwfp.com/wildlife-hunting/wildlife-species-program/alligator-program/private-lands-and-permits.
