Mississippi Parks to Host Kayaking Event for Fourth of July Weekend
Mississippi’s Paul B. Johnson State Park will host a kayaking event on July 3 as part of Fourth of July festivities, according to the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks.
The event runs from 9 a.m. to noon and offers participants the chance to paddle through scenic waterways while celebrating 250 years of American independence and outdoor traditions. The activity is open to the public, with participants encouraged to bring their own kayaks and paddling gear.
Participation is free with paid park admission. The department recommends arriving early and notes that the event is suitable for both racing and leisure paddling, making it a family-friendly way to enjoy the holiday weekend.
