NWS Memphis says dry weather, fire danger continue across Mid-South
The National Weather Service in Memphis says dry weather will persist into early next week across the Mid-South, with daily highs in the 70s to lower 80s and lows in the 40s to lower 50s. The agency’s forecast graphics say dry fuels and a lack of rainfall will keep fire danger elevated across the region.
For Corinth, the weather service graphic shows highs near 78 Thursday and 77 Friday. It also shows overnight lows near 46 on Thursday night and Friday night, with minimum relative humidity around 24% Thursday before rising into the 30s later in the week.
A separate fire danger graphic says elevated fire weather conditions are expected Thursday from noon to 7 p.m. The service says grass fires may ignite and spread under the dry conditions and says winds will generally stay below 10 mph, but it still discourages outdoor burning and activities involving open sparks or flames.
