Disaster Service Centers in Mississippi Remain Open for Storm Survivors

Disaster Service Centers are open across Mississippi to assist residents impacted by severe storms and tornadoes that occurred May 6-7, according to officials.

The centers provide assistance with FEMA applications, information on state and local resources, and opportunities to speak with U.S. Small Business Administration representatives about disaster loans, officials said.

Locations include centers in Franklin County at the Franklin County Public Library in Meadville, Lamar County, Lawrence County, Lincoln County (two locations), and Wilkinson County. The centers operate from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays. They are closed on Sundays, officials added.

Residents are encouraged to visit the centers for support if their homes or property were affected by the storms, the officials said.
