The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency announced Tuesday that six Disaster Service Centers will open to assist residents impacted by severe storms that struck the state in early May.
The centers, established in coordination with federal and local partners, will open at noon and operate Monday through Saturday. They are designed to provide resources and support for storm victims.
The centers will be located in Franklin, Lamar, Lawrence, Lincoln, and Wilkinson counties. The locations include the Franklin County Courthouse in Meadville, Lamar County Community Center in Purvis, Lawrence County Emergency Operations Center in Monticello, Bogue Chitto Fire Department and East Lincoln Fire Department in Brookhaven, and Wilkinson County EMA Office in Woodville.
Centers will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., according to MEMA. Residents seeking assistance are encouraged to visit during these hours.
