The National Weather Service in Memphis has issued a heat advisory for areas along and west of the Mississippi River on Monday. The advisory warns of heat index values exceeding 105 degrees.
Officials recommend residents take precautions to avoid heat-related illnesses, including staying hydrated and avoiding prolonged outdoor activity during peak heat hours.
The agency continues to monitor weather conditions and will provide updates as necessary.
