Heat Advisory issued for western Mid-South on Saturday

A heat advisory has been issued for Saturday for western portions of the Mid-South, according to the National Weather Service.

Temperatures are expected to reach the mid-90s, with humidity pushing the heat index between 105 and 108 degrees Fahrenheit, the agency said.

Residents without access to adequate cooling are at increased risk of heat-related illnesses, authorities warned.

The advisory urges residents to stay hydrated, seek air-conditioned spaces, and avoid strenuous activity during the hottest parts of the day.
