Heat Advisory Issued for Parts of Mid South as Severe Storm Risk Lingers

The National Weather Service in Memphis has issued a heat advisory for portions of the Mid South, effective from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. today. The advisory warns of heat index values at or above 105 degrees.

In addition, there is a marginal risk for severe thunderstorms this afternoon into early evening. The primary threat from these storms is damaging winds, according to the weather service.
