Severe Thunderstorm Watch Cancelled in Memphis Area

The National Weather Service in Memphis has canceled the Severe Thunderstorm Watch for the area, citing a decrease in severe weather conditions.

While the watch has been lifted, a few strong storms and loud thunder still persist over northern Mississippi, according to the NWS.

Authorities advise residents to remain cautious and watch for receding floodwaters caused by heavy rainfall. Reports of storm activity are encouraged as the weather continues to change.

The weather service notes that the window for severe weather is closing, and conditions are expected to improve shortly.
