The Corinth Green Market has a new date. Organizers have moved this Saturday’s Green Market and Fall Festival in downtown Corinth from Oct. 3 to Saturday, Oct. 17, because rain is expected this weekend.
Green Market at the Corinth Depot, the Crossroads Museum event that runs the monthly artisan market, announced the change on its Facebook page Tuesday night. “Due to the forecasted rain for this Saturday, we’ve made the decision to reschedule this weekend’s Green Market to Saturday, October 17!” the post said. A graphic with the post reads “Rescheduled to Oct 17!”
Why the Corinth Green Market Was Rescheduled
The National Weather Service in Memphis is calling for a 70% chance of showers and thunderstorms in Corinth from Friday through Saturday night. That’s welcome news during the area’s severe drought, but it’s bad weather for an outdoor market full of tents, crafts and food trucks.
Organizers thanked shoppers and vendors for their understanding. They also encouraged people to keep supporting local vendors and downtown Corinth.
What Vendors Need to Know
Vendor fees paid for the Oct. 3 market transfer automatically to the Oct. 17 market under the event’s policy.

What Was Planned for the Fall Festival
The October market was set to be a fall-themed event put on together by the Green Market and Main Street Corinth. Main Street Corinth Director Angela Avent told the Daily Corinthian that plans included:
Bounce houses
Pumpkins from a trailer that visitors could paint or carve for free
Face painting and stickers for kids
Local food trucks
Vendors selling handcrafted goods and homemade food
Admission to the Green Market is free. The market is normally held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Crossroads Museum at the historic Corinth Depot on North Fillmore Street. Organizers also want the event to bring shoppers into downtown stores for the day. Check the Green Market’s Facebook page for the final schedule for Oct. 17.
