Rain chances return to Corinth with cooler weekend ahead
The National Weather Service in Memphis said a cold front will bring rain chances back to the Mid-South beginning late tonight and Friday. The office said the change should also bring gradually cooler and more seasonable temperatures into next week, with highs in the 70s to lower 80s and lows falling into the upper 40s to lower 50s by Monday.
For Corinth, the forecast graphic shows a high of 88 Friday, then 82 Saturday and 77 Sunday. It keeps highs at 80 Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, before a slight rise to 84 Thursday. That puts the city on a cooler track after the front moves through.
The same graphic shows overnight lows in Corinth of 68 Friday, 66 Saturday, 57 Sunday and 51 Monday and Tuesday. Lows then edge up to 54 Wednesday and 54 Thursday, keeping mornings cooler through the end of the week.
The weather service said many areas will likely see about 1 inch of rainfall, with localized totals up to 1.5 inches over North Mississippi. The update said a complete weekend washout is not expected, even with rain chances returning late tonight and Friday.
The National Weather Service graphic shows the cooler stretch continuing into next week as the front settles across the region. It ties the rain chances to the same system and keeps Corinth on a gradual temperature decline before a modest rebound late next week.
